Give data a shared meaning

Digital twins need more than sensor data. An ontology describes equipment, its properties and relationships. This makes data understandable across systems.

Build on what exists

An independent data layer lets applications reuse integrations and models. Existing buildings and automation must be part of the solution; buildings need not share the same technical maturity.

Separate applications with their own integrations brought together around a standardised, independent data layer. The original figure has Norwegian headings.
